| David Skinner & Sons origins are in paper conservation and in particular decorative wallpaper. .Past projects include Castletown House, Fota House, Kilkenny Castle, Belvedere House, number 10 Henrietta street,Muckross House, and Aras an Uactaran. Through the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries ‘paper stainers’ were numerous in Ireland. Some of their papers are still to be found in various states of repair throughout the country. With the extensive restoration of period buildings in recent years fragments of paper are regularly exposed with the removal of more recent wall coverings. Occasionally there is enough of the original artwork to reproduce the wallpaper. . . |
