Lectures

I am often asked to give illustrated talks on aspects of the history of wallpaper in Ireland. Here are some examples of recent presentations:

‘Wallpaper in Ireland - History, Design, and Approaches to Conservation’: online webinar for the Dublin Civic Trust, January 2023

‘Wallpapers in Irish Rural Buildings’: online lecture for SPAB (The Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings) Ireland, October 2021, as part of the lecture series ‘Conserving Irish Vernacular Houses’

‘Historic Wallpapers in Castle Coole’, as part of a study day jointly organised by the National Trust and the Irish Georgian Society, held in Castle Coole, County Fermanagh, November 2019

In May 2023 I led an international group from the Wallpaper History Society on a four-day tour of south-east Ireland.

Workshops

I have twice partnered with the Irish Georgian Society to provide hands-on workshops in printing for children as part of Crinniu na n’Og – Ireland’s annual day of creativity for children. The most recent one, ‘Pattern and Print’ took place during the IGS Traditional Building Skills weekend in June 2022.

Please get in touch if you would like to explore an idea for a workshop.
